What should I wear to my photoshoot?
No matter what, I always advise my clients to wear something that makes you feel fabulous, confident, and if at all possible, comfortable.
What you wear depends on the purpose of your shoot and the location. I typically recommend solid colors of any kind for outdoor nature photos. If we’re shooting in a more urban setting with lots of concrete or murals, patterns and colors are fun to work into the backdrop. For family or group sessions, I recommend wardrobes that are complementary but not matching. So wear different styles, in colors that work together but don’t look too coordinated.
Bring a change of outfits.
After all, we’re capturing your shine! I always recommend bringing changes of clothes so you can experiment with different looks. Go from a dress to jeans and boots--we can play around depending on the location. Even just switching up a jacket can give you a whole new look. (If you look through my portfolio, you might notice a few photos with the same person in different outfits.)
Be ready for the weather!
Sometimes Mother Nature's plans don't match your outfit plans. So if it's chilly out and you're wanting to wear a spring dress, bring something to warm up with between takes.
Either way, we’ll do a video chat beforehand to discuss wardrobe, location, and anything else that will help us nail just the right look.
Send me a message and we'll get in touch to discuss ideas for your shoot.
